PACE Academy seeks candidates for high school academic and vocational subject areas are encouraged to apply.  Full and part time positions are available.   Teachers must hold a NC teaching license or be otherwise NCLB highly qualified. In order to be considered “highly qualified” by the standards of No Child Left Behind, a teacher must exhibit one of the following:

•  A major in the subject taught
•  24 semester hours in the subject taught
• A master’s degree in the subject

Passing scores on the subject examination for PRAXIS II

Applicants must be highly qualified in their field and excited about challenging and supporting students to become knowledgeable, thoughtful, and contributing citizens. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of differentiating instruction and implementing instructional and assessment accommodations for Exceptional Children. Applicants must also show a commitment to active participation in the school community. PACE Academy staff must be committed to engage students through experiential learning, authentic workplace applications, and unique instructional methods.

PACE Academy offers a salary competitive with nearby districts, participation in North Carolina State Employee Retirement Program, optional 401K, and health insurance for full-time employees.  The average class size is 14.
