PACE Academy offers students two distinct pathways to earn a high school diploma.
The Occupational Course or Study is an outgrowth of North Carolina’s federally funded Systems Change Transition Project. The modified curriculum specifically designed for Exceptional Children focuses on post-school employment and independent living; also, Occupational Course of Study students must complete 300 hours of school-based vocational training, 240 hours of community-based vocational training and 360 hours of paid employment.
The Future Ready Core Course of Study was implemented by the State of North Carolina in 2009. This course of study combines teaching and learning with 21st Century Skills necessary for educational, work, and life pursuits.
